-rearrangement desirable, and as no additional expense
would be incurred thereby, the present salaries of the
Chinese Assistants being at the rate of £120 rising to
£180 per annum, I caused provision to be made for the new
post in the Estimates for 1906 at a salary of £360 rising
to £420 per annum by triennial increments of £30.
I have now to request that subject
to your approval of these arrangements the Crown Agents
may be asked to engage a suitable Officer for the post of
Assistant Bacteriologist. I enclose the usual paper
of
particulars.
